In addition to aesthetics, our Design process begins with considering Energy Efficiency as well. We prepare an Energy Model of your project using REM/Design Energy Modeling software. To address the “Big Three” of Energy Efficiency, our Energy Model compares the energy performance of traditional code-minimum, fiberglass-insulated construction to a foam-insulated house. Included in this energy study is a relative percentage of energy savings as compared to a fiberglass house.
This Energy Modeling software is the companion program to the rating software that HERS raters use to evaluate building performance for Energy Star homes. If you choose to build your home using these well-insulated, control-ventilated techniques, you will save at least 30% on your energy bills, save on the cost of your heating and air conditioning system, and add market value to your house, by certifying your project as an Energy Star home.
